I have been a patient at the Scott practice for 30 years, I count myself very fortunate to have very good health but whenever I have needed to see a Dr it has never been a problem. It may take some time to get through depending on the time of phoning but I either wait until I get through or ring back later.
The reception staff have always been very polite and helpful as have any of the nursing staff and Dr's I have dealt with.
I have friends who live in different areas of Doncaster and when I hear what problems they have with their respective surgeries I am relieved to be at the Scott practice and always remark on what a good Dr's I have.
Thank you. Reply from The Scott Practice Mon, 13 Aug 2018 09:30:25 +0100 Thank you for your kind comment. It is always nice to receive positive feedback. |

Poor customer service
Lack of care or regard for service users
poor time keeping
little action lots of looking busy (observations of a 15 year old!!)
Some poor GP's
Don't ring when appointment booked- arrogance at it's best
Surgery that tells you what they expect from you but nothing about what you can expect from them. Poor customer care culture
Would give a negative score |

This practice used to be amazing but I'm sad to say it's not like it used to be. I don't blame them completely there are more patients to be seen than ever before and a lot more problems to deal with.
I have always liked the online booking service as I find it easier than telephoning, but unfortunately you cannot book appointments for diabetic reviews, asthma reviews or blood tests, are these ever going to be bookable online like they used to be?
It's not always easy to find a doctor you can really gel with I have only ever found 2, 1 of which doesn't do appointments the other one left.
I find it's nice if you can find a doctor who will take time for you and to listen to you, but with the pressures of today's life they just don't seem to have the time which is a shame because those of us who do have anxiety problems or depression dont feel easy talking to new faces, and it seems every time I go to the Drs it's another new face. Gone are the days when your doctor knew you and your family. I fear it's becoming more technological we will be doing FaceTime appointments soon or seeing an AI GP.
I try hard not to see a GP anymore unless I'm desperate which is how i came to be taking an unnecessary medication for quite a few years and how I've ended up suffering from a problem that has gone undiagnosed for many years. I tend to feel as though they just don't have the time anymore. It's sad really I used to hold this practice in such high regard now I find I only used it out of real necessity. I just don't feel comfortable anymore. Reply from The Scott Practice Wed, 31 Jan 2018 15:17:24 Z The Scott Practice has had to change systems to meet the increasing demands of patients, for example the introduction of GP triage for requests for urgent appointments, the recruitment of a pharmacist and Advanced Nurse Practitioner. These changes, we feel, have improved access to a GP for patients' with complex needs. We do not make the nurses appointments available for booking online as unfortunately patients were not booking the correct amount of time and this impacted on the nurses being able to complete everything they needed to. We have upgraded our telephone system and recruited more reception staff to improve the telephone response time and we do encourage patients to use the online booking service for the doctors' appointments. We have had a number of GP's retire recently and some have left to pursue other interests. I assume your comment about the GP who doesnt do appointments refers to Dr Corlett, who has also reduced sessions significantly and now predominantly does our minor surgery, unfortunately these changes are outside our control, We have however recruited new Partners, some of whom have now been with us for many years and we would like to think you would be able to build a relationship with one of them. We do offer double appointments when patients have complex or multiple issues to discuss. There is pressure being put on us to provide alternative methods of consultation such as skype but these would always be offered as alternatives and would not replace what we currently provide. Without specific details I am unable to comment on any diagnosis or medication issue but if you would like to contact the practice pharmacist she will look into this for you. It is always easier to discuss concerns face to face rather than anonymously so if you would like to discuss any of your issues please contact the practice to speak to the practice manager. Thank you. |
