the initial emergency appointment and doctor who called me was great, she always is, it is a shame these days you can never get to see a doctor however, blood tests arranged and again the nurse who saw me was really nice, caring and super helpful. received a call today to arrange appointment for me to get results, told only a standard appointment needed so not urgent and was offered 2 weeks to speak to the same doctor, told doctors are extremely busy dealing with Covid issues .. was offered to speak to another doctor in a week , i said i was not happy and to be expected to wait another week to find out results was not good enough, i think i used the words it’s a disgrace when all I want to know is if everything was clear. i asked could I not be advised by email. late in the afternoon i received a call from a very defensive doctor who took offence to my criticism and started the phone call somewhat defensive. ( maybe the owner of the surgery I am not sure ) I pointed out I was not rude but just wanted to know the results, he then went on to state I had received excellent service, having a phone appointment the same day and blood tests within a week etc at which point I pointed out I was not complaining about that I was complaining having to wate two week for the original doctor to give me feedback on results. This went back and forth, I mentioned why I was concerned having lost a brother to cancer in December 2020 and just wanted to know everything was alright , he pointed out because I was offered a standard appointment it meant everything was ok and the doctor just wanted to mention I had high cholesterol levels but this was not urgent , not sure how I am supposed to know that. I pointed out again all i wanted was to know the tests were clear and having to wait such a long time I found were totally unacceptable given Matt Hancock and many other MP keep saying if you have concerns go to your doctors, they are open for business. I did go on to say I though it was disgusting and his attitude is something I would expect from the left , call ended with no action on what to do next to try and work out what causing the pain, will move doctors , I still have the pain I called the doctors about and at time of writing have no way of resolving the issue unless I go private as I have lost confidence in the surgery, in comparison to the Gately practice I was with for over 20 years in Bourne Lincolnshire this surgery falls way short of what I have been accustomed to … |
