I left this practice about 12 months ago having been told by the pharmacist that it was a waste of NHS resources to continue to treat me. I checked with the senior GP that this was the position of the practice. She, as usual, avoided the issue but said that the pharmacist 'knew more than most doctors'. I had been at the practice for decades and am, amongst other things, a recovering cancer patient. Several leading GPs had left in the preceding years and I have never seen an organisation decline so quickly. I was advised by a locum to 'get the hell out of there.' I followed that sound advice. |

I have been with the practice for more than 20 years but over the last year I have been unable to get an appointment when I need one. I only go every 12 weeks for an injection but I cannot get an appointment after 230. I start work at 6am so offering me appointments at 1130 are no good to me.To be told by a receptionist they are shirt staffed and that's all they can offer me is unacceptable. The implications of having to wait nearly 3 weeks for an appointment doesnt seem to be important.I am seriously thinking of moving my family to another surgery which is a shame as some Drs and nurses are lovely but my care and my families care must come first Reply from Hillside Practice Thu, 29 Aug 2019 10:47:00 +0100 Dear SA I am sorry to hear that you are having difficulty getting an appointment for your injection. As you have not given your name I am unable to look into this in more detail but if you could contact Keith Warburton at Hillside on the usual phone number we should be able to have a look and see if there is anything we can do to sort this problem out for you. with best wishes Dr Harvie |

Since 1993 this practice has served me very well with regard to care of myself(both doctors and nursing staff have been professional, kind and caring). I have a long term medical condition which requires extra care from time to time and recently I have needed a lot of nursing care and the nursing and health care staff have been brilliant, The GPs have been professional, kind and prompt with their response to recent problems and I have found them easy to talk to which is a huge bonus. Recently there has been changes to the repeat prescription system and there have been many teething problems but I have found the practice pharmacist to be approachable and reassuring when I have needed to speak with her. The receptionists have always been polite and courteous though often when phoning the practice it is quite a while before the call is answered; if one is unwell 12 minutes plus is a very long time to be hanging on waiting for the call to be answered. Overall I say," Thank you Hillside, you continue to provide a caring, professional and most satisfactory practice as far as this patient is concerned" Cant thank you enough!! |
