This is a practice in rapid decline. Dr Saxton retired in mid 2020 and he was the individual who provided stability. If you have minor problems you will be fine but if you have a serious condition or are elderly you will be in difficulties. The current GPs blame the NHS for not paying enough for them to provide a decent service but they still take the cash and don't provide the service. The team believe that the surgery is a job creation scheme for those who work there. They forget that it has a primary purpose to help patients. They rule by threat, stop complaining or we will remove you from the lists. I would prefer to be removed from the list that have to suffer that place. What is needed is a personal visit from the Regulator with a proper inspection. The last personal visit was 2019 but the CQC, under pressure from patients, have tightened up their procedures. Change is desperately needed before a serious incident occurs. |

I have attended this Surgery since I was a baby and I can honestly say I couldn’t have expected better care in all that time. The current team of doctors, nurses and reception staff all seem to have the patients best interest at heart. The few times that I have had problems they have been dealt with speedily. I have several difficulties that means I go to the doctors more often than most. If I need to see a doctor I usually can within a reasonable time, although they do seem to be struggling to keep up that high standard at the moment. I see this as a funding problem rather than an issue with the competency of the surgical or administrative teams. I would happily see any of the doctors on staff, however, when dealing with my ongoing difficulties I do have a go too person. She is superb, not only in terms of medical competency, she is also one of those people that can make you feel like you are not only a patient but an individual. |

Tiny consulting room. Not pleasant.
Always a faint smell of tobacco which I am sensitive to - causing me to cough.
I feel GP did not listen properly.
Fobbed off with unfounded generalisations. Reply from Brotton Surgery Tue, 06 Feb 2018 16:53:30 Z Due to an increased demand on our appointment system NHS Properties have converted rooms to consulting rooms. We are sorry if the size of this room did not meet your expectations but without it we would not be able to have an extra Clinician working, enabling us to offer the extra appointments required. None of our Doctors or Nurses smoke and although we continue to promote smoking cessation to our patients we still have a high proportion who do smoke and can only apologise if you have entered the room when the smell of tobacco is present. We are not aware of which GP you saw but we would like the opportunity to discuss your concerns further, please contact us on 01287 676215. |
