  • Care Home Information

The Mead is an attractive, purpose-built care home situated in Borehamwood, close to local shops and amenities. The home provides care for 60 older people with a range of care needs including dementia. The home is accredited by Hertfordshire County Council to provide specialist dementia care, and has to undergo a rigorous annual evaluation process in order to achieve that status.

The home is divided into four living areas, two of which are dedicated to those living with dementia. All of the bedrooms have en-suite facilities, telephones, television point and call bell systems. Each area has its own living areas including lounge dining room and kitchen. There is also a beautifully landscaped enclosed garden with pleasant grounds for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Other services at the home include respite care for those requiring short breaks, and an on-site Day service Q Club - which caters for local residents. These vital services provides the stimulation, friendship and support needed to enable people to stay in their own home for longer. With the help of the residents, our staff organise a range of activities, such as discussions, board games, outings, entertainment, sherry sing-a-long evenings and many others.

Our kitchen provides hot, nutritious meals daily and can cater for special dietary needs. There is always a choice of dishes, and residents are involved in drawing up the menu. One of the core values of Quantum Care is that each and every employee is important and that is why we are committed to ensuring that all our staff have the professional skills and confidence to make the most of their role and to provide the best possible service to our clients. That why we have enjoyed Investor in People status since 2001 and place such a strong focus on training and development. If you are interested in any of the services please feel free to ring the home directly.
