Teesdale Lodge Nursing Home

We chose Teesdale lodge for my Mother because of a recommendation from a neighbour of mine. The care my mother recieved was always excellent. All the staff were very caring and always took time to talk and joke with my mother. The food served was always of a high standard, my Mother’s appetite was sometimes low but the staff always offered alternative options to encourage her to eat. Some Agency staff were used at times but they were also helpful and caring. Unfortunately my Mother passed away a short time ago, during her final days we were given lots of support and help. The staff treated my Mother like there own which was evident with the love they showed to my Mother at the end.

My wife needed respite nursing care to recuperate from a disastrous seven week stay in hospital.I visited all the suitable nursing homes in the area and chose Teesdale Lodge due to the pleasant and welcoming staff and the general ambience of the home. It was initially thought that my wife would stay for several weeks, but for reasons beyond my control she was eventually there for five months. I visited her for at least four hours every day for the whole of her stay, and came to know the staff and routines very well.I have nothing but praise for the way all the staff dealt with a difficult and demanding job and remained cheerful and helpful.If I had thought it was not a good place for her to be I would have moved her straight away and not waited for several years ,for example, to move her. My wife has a good appetite and was very satisfied with the quantity and variety and quality of the meals on offer, and the chefs were very willing to provide alternative choices if she wanted them. Recent reports do not reflect the treatment my wife experienced in Teesdale Lodge and I would have no hesitation in entrusting her care to them in the future should the need arise.

My grandfather was very reticent about going into a nursing home but, for health reasons, had no choice. The staff at Teesdale Lodge made a difficult time as positive as it could possibly be. I cannot praise the staff's energy, friendliness, kindness, care and good humour highly enough. They always made time for a chat and a joke and really seemed to care about my grandfathers welfare. The home is spacious, calm and spotlessly clean. The food was good and the staff were professional and respectful. This is an excellent nursing home because of the quality of the staff. My grandfather was very happy and comfortable during his time there, so I would not hesitate in recommending it.
