This is now the 3rd time I have had a phone appointment booked as apparently Doctors are no longer seeing patients!! However despite conformation of an appointment between 8.30am and 12.30pm I received no call. I rang surgery at 12.33pm to be told I would get a call. But no call was received all day and the next day. No contact at all to apologise, or even rearrange the appointment the Doctor missed. An email was sent by me, but that has yet to be acknowledged a day later! |

Due to an extremely painful back, and on advice from the receptionist to whom I spoke, I received a visit from a GP attached to this surgery. The in-depth approach that he took, which included ultrasound and blood tests, was exemplary. As someone over a certain age I was impressed with the lateral approach that he took.
All tests and feedback were completed within 10 days. I have been with this practice for several years and have always been dealt with positively.
We are so swift to criticise that I feel we should also give positive reviews, when it warrants. |

I find it very difficult to see my registered doctor. This is my 2nd attempt at seeing the doctor recently and both times I have had to wait almost 2 months each time. On both occasions I was told the doctor was on holiday but when I eventually saw the doctor he informed me that this practice had double booked the days with another practice resulting in all appointments at one practice having to be cancelled. I was assured this would not happen again but I am afraid history seems to have repeated itself at this practice.
So now 5 weeks later I find myself in hospital overnight being treated for a ‘simple’ enough issue that could have been treated by this practice. A wrong diagnosis by another doctor at this practice (no medication given) and 4 days later a ‘stuttering’ attempted diagnosis by another doctor (blood sample and stool taken) saw me seeking urgent assistance at A & E in West Suffolk Hospital 2 days later where I spent my first pain free night (and slept well)...a Junior Doctor, I repeat a Junior Doctor gave me a full explanation to what he thought was the issue through exactly the same tests given to me by Forest Surgery with a CT scan arranged immediately rather than an anticipated scan in the future some time...Forest Surgery had failed to help me through a very painful period and the only help afforded to me was being given the opportunity to talk via telephone to an unsympathetic receptionist.
Resolution of my current predicament...I was offered a doctor’s telephone call back 24 hours later but I had already failed in a previous attempt to talk to my own doctor. I repeated I was in severe pain but was offered an appointment to see a doctor whom I had been under before and who had asked me to see another doctor in the future as it seemed we had a personality clash. No skills here in being a professional person able to handle any circumstance. My next offer of assistance was to see a doctor in another 5 weeks time as this one was going on holiday too.
I wonder if I was told porkies! Anyway I am confident my medical problem will be solved soon AND not by Brandon’s Forest Surgery. |
