I have been with this surgery since moving here 11 years ago.
I have visited a range of doctors and most of them have been professional and understanding , However there is one GP who really lets this surgery down. They send you away feeling like you have wasted their time, they use unprofessional language " you have the lurgy"? Rather unsure what that is a medical term for. Its always "a virus" and I have been told to eat apples, garlic and take echinacea. This presumes that I do not and I need to help myself more.
If this was a one off I could understand but each time I see the said Doctor this is the manner in which one is treated. I have often come out of the surgery in tears thinking I should not have gone in. I have been to a pharmacy straight after a visit to the said GP and after explaining my symptoms the pharmacist said "you need to see your GP" I replied I just have, they said " I know which one you have seen" which was quite concerning to think that this happens so many times to others that the pharmacists know about them.
I now will only see the other GPs which is unfair to them, as I am sure I am not alone. I am close to wanting to change but the other GPs and staff there are fabulous. Its a shame that this has been going on for so long. | ||||||

I have never had a bad experience with any of the GP's in all the thirty years I have been attending the surgery. Yes, I may have had times when I didn't agree with their individual diagnosis or subsequent methods of treatment but all in all, I don't have a problem with the doctors present or past.
Now we come to the Reception staff. Many staff have come and gone from reception over the years, some have had a blunt but to-the-point attitude, some have been here to just do their job but many are here to be friendly, polite, helpful and professional.
I am of the mind-set that the more friendlier you are in your demeanour to all the staff, they are as equally friendly and helpful back. This is what I have experienced in my appointments to the surgery although sometimes I have been taken aback by attitudes towards me by some of the staff, however, I do everything I can to make fun and light of any situation. I try to and strive to be likened by all the staff, most of the time it's good but sometimes it appears to be hard work on my part and as such, I accept that sometimes I am just a number. "We are all different" and sometimes we have bad days and I am sure the staff have these days, especially considering the volume of patients that come and go in a day in the surgery, let alone the constant Tel calls they answer and appointments they make.
Let's not leave out the nurses now. They too have a thankless job where they see a patient fleetingly, minutes in their treatment room, but who are all very charming, polite, very caring and professional but so friendly.
So now I have spoken my mind about the surgery with what I describe as a very honest opinion and I hope that those that take the time to read the comments posted about the surgery and staff take the time to read the positive comments and not just the negative's. What is a bad experience for one does not go to say that we will all have a bad experience at our next appointment.

I do not recognise the surgery described in earlier reviews. I have been a patient for about 8 years at this practice and have received nothing but courtesy and helpfulness from everyone I was able to get appointments even when working full time in Cambridge, it is a matter of being flexible for non urgent appointments. Everyone has an occasional off day but I have only had one issue with this and it was put right at my next visit. Having moved from another practice where, with the exception of one nurse everyone was surly and unhelpful all the time I have nothing but praise for all the team at this practice. In the last 5 years I have had a number of problems including 3 major operations and slowly declining health and am therefore becoming a regular face there, not once have I been made to feel a nuisance nor refused an appointment request. I cannot praise them highly enough and would happily recommend this practice and all of its staff doctors, receptionists, nurses and managers to you. | ||||||
