My wife tried to get an appointment to discuss 4 years old's worsening eczema. Was told next telephone appointment in 2 weeks. Given a day timeframe as to when the call could come - not a time. Was teaching a class so missed the call - teachers can't answer calls whilst teaching a class. Then I tried to arrange an appointment. Told next routine telephone appointment is 29 days away between the hours of 8:30am to 1pm. I'm a teacher - I can't answer a phone in the middle of teaching. I appreciate that vaccinations are taking place, but as per the other negative review, this length of time for an appointment is below acceptable healthcare standards. The surgery is taking on more and more patients as Longstanton and surrounding areas grow, but there isn't the infrastructure or GPs to support. I am now fearful for my family as to ongoing healthcare. I should point out that on the occasion when I needed an urgent prescription the staff and the doctor I spoke to were outstanding. However, whether it is underfunding or poor regional management, something needs to change in order to ensure health issues are caught early on and dealt with in a timely manner. Our previous surgery was able to give same day urgent appointments - telephone or otherwise. This meant that ear infections etc were able to be dealt with straight away. | ||||||

I've never been to a GP surgery that is as friendly and welcoming as this one. The receptionists are lovely and the nurses and doctors are thoughtful and competent. I recommend it very highly. | ||||||

It is not acceptable that at any time of the year there is always a waiting time of 14 days to be received for an appointment.
If people call the doctor, it is because they are sick in THAT moment, not 14 days later.
I called in December and I was told: Miss, Christmas is coming, we are busy and fully booked.
This is NOT acceptable. I would close this surgery as it is completely USELESS. | ||||||
