I have thankfully rarely needed to visit the surgery in the last 10 years until the last 2 months, when I have needed same day appointments for different family members. Each time I called the phone was answered swiftly and pleasantly. I was always offered appointments, maybe not at the time I wanted, but so what if I have to rearrange my day. The doctors generally run on time but if I had to wait obviously someone needed longer than their allotted 10 minutes. GPs, Practice Nurses and reception staff are under increasing pressure to accommodate more and more as the budget is squeezed tighter. If you are unhappy with the service provided contact your local MP and ask them to fund the NHS correctly. Thank you all at Castle Donington surgery, you do a great job. | ||||||

Castle Donington surgery offers a good standard of care, with the vast majority of staff being pleasant, caring and empathetic. The GPs are clinically sound, although one needs to address her bedside manner. All of the nursing staff are knowledgable and friendly. I rarely use the surgery but have had occasion to visit 3 times in the last 2 months for various family members. When ringing the surgery at 8:15 I have not failed to be offered an appointment that day, it may not be at the exact time I would like but if I were making an appointment at a bank or solicitors I would not expect an appointment to suit my exact needs either. People need to remember that the NHS is under tremendous pressure and a certain degree of self care is required. Pharmacies are available for mild complaints and advice; use them. I would like to thank Castle Donington surgery for it’s hard work in difficult times. | ||||||
