I recently rang for an appointment and had telephone appointment with my gp in seven days as was not urgent. Spoke with gp. Blood tests done next day results in a couple of days saw locum gp ten days later who explained results and made referral to rhuematology seen in six weeks by consultant. Could not have had better care from gp and also the reception staff I spoke too. Would highly recommend this medical practice. Very happy with the care received. |

I rang on 19/8/22 am to enquire about a nutrition prescription for my partner who has recently received cancer treatment and requires all nutrition via a RIG. The dark haired receptionist who I spoke to was ‘shirty’ and ‘abrupt’ on the phone, I didn’t get the full gist of what the problem was. I then contacted the dispensing chemist to be informed all their computers were down. It was later in the day the chemist informed me the prescription hadn’t gone through. Several attempts were made to ring the GP surgery, to be cut off. I drove to the GP surgery and informed the receptionist of the problem. She was was again quite rude and abrupt. Apparently she had told me earlier to ring another chemist to check their stock and ring the GP surgery back. I was going to ring from there on my mobile but didn’t know the number and neither did the abrupt receptionist. The other receptionist intervened and emailed them the prescription. During this time several elderly anxious patients came to the surgery with the same problem. The ‘abrupt’ receptionist was then shouting across to nobody in particular that “all the chemists in the village computer systems had been down, and due to that they themselves had been getting it in the neck “! I had the luxury of being able to drive to the other chemist and collect the prescription the following day. I would like to say to this particular receptionist, Where is your compassion??!! This was a particularly worrying time for all patients concerned. You lady get payed for your job and should have managed the situation better. I’m sure you couldn’t wait to get home and think what an awful day you’d had? Well , I only hope that the other elderly and anxious patients also managed to get sorted and collect their prescriptions |

I arrived in a state: anxious, stressed. The doctor put me at ease immediately, listened carefully and assured me of what should happen next. Many thanks…just what the doctor ordered. ?? |
