I have been registered at the practice for many years and usually have not had a problem as I rarely see the GP. Every time I need to be seen though, it's a different story! I have to speak to the nurse who promises to ring me back but every time I have not received a call back. When I have contacted back to chase the call up, I am told that the nurse tried to ring but the phone was engaged which is far from the truth. This has happened on almost every occasion that I have tried to book an appointment. Anyhow, once I manage to get an appointment the GPs are professional and can't do enough to help.
The reception staff do try and help but at times I feel their hands are tied due to the system in place. It would be nice to receive this care with a smile though! |

Have been ringing since Monday 13/11 & then the 14/11 been told no appointments triage is to busy to speak with anyone, receptionist wants a full explanation into why I am calling no appointments available, get questioned like you doing something wrong I just to speak to a GP |

What has happened to Whitefield Surgery? No appointments no doctors whenever u ask for one have to give a full explanation to the receptionist before you get anywhere it’s like an interigation!!! Had to go a and e to ger a result last time!!! It’s become appalling, why can’t we see a GP???? The receptionists speak to u like your nobody!!! Our routine appointments are opened on Monday for the coming week and there are urgent appointments available every day. As part of the new Care Navigation pathway that is coming into force we do ask that patients tell us a little about why they need to be seen as there could be an alternative to seeing the GP that they are not aware of. This could be a nurse, pharmacist, telephone call, minor eye clinic, and even self referral for some mental health issues. This process has been designed to help free up GP appointments for patients with more complex needs and is being rolled out across the country. I'm sorry that you feel you were interrogated as this is not our intention. |
