Everything you can expect from a family doctor. He will listen to you and has time for you.
From my experience he has always treated me well and never wasted time to send me for a second opinion when needed.
The staff are very efficient and understanding.
I would give this practice a five star, |

I must admit to being bemused by the 5 star reviews for this surgery and makes me consider whether the doctor had some prejudice towards me for some reason.
Firstly, I must say the practice nurse is absolutely lovely, kind and considerate. I have also only got positive things to say about the receptionists.
However, the doctor is a different story. Every time I have been to see them I feel they have been argumentative and made sweeping statements about my health conditions.
Examples
- Fibromyalgia doesn't cause joint pain
- Fibromyalgia cant really be diagnosed (I was diagnosed by a rheumatologist)
- Under active thyroid doesn't case weight gain
- You don't have diabetes (I do)
- That's a wrist splint not a thumb splint (I have been given it by NHS Occupational Health, it was a thumb splint)
These are just a few examples of many.
I actually think they don't believe in Fibromyalgia which is frustrating.
I know these things look trivial in black and white but I absolutely dread having to go to see them. They ask questions in a manner which makes me feel as if I am complaining about nothing. They also make me feel as if I have to defend myself all the time.
I damaged my toe in a fall 6 months ago and have waited 6 months to get them to check it (I still cant bend it) Not that they helped me - they only said it wasn't caused by diabetes!! ( The diabetic nurse advised me to show them. It was a complete waste of time)
I shouldn't leave a doctors feeling like they haven't heard a word I said or like I have to defend my chronic illnesses and their symptoms. They regularly disagree with the NHS Guidelines and other NHS professionals. I am not a difficult or awkward person I would just liked to be listened to and not argued with.
I have never had any of these issues with any other NHS professionals. I shall be changing practice asap. |
