My experiences have been mainly positive over the last 20 years; the nurses and doctors have always been very supportive in dealing with my asthma and 95% of the time the reception staff have also been polite and professional. However, like every other GP practice on the NHS they have financial, technical, personnel and systemic challenges that will impact on their ability to deliver the service we would all like. Overall I think they are doing a good job under difficult circumstances. |

I work in Manchester live in Nelson and usually make my appointments via an app. I prefer this method because I have found it the most convenient and I admit the most effective to getting an appointment. Today though has gone one step further! Speculative look on the app to see if any appointments were available for the next day, I usually try for the following morning but experience has been that these usually appear later, but to my surprise I was able to make an appointment for the same evening 19:45 using the extended opening hours, what an awesome idea. This fits in perfectly for me and avoids having to adjust my work schedule. My experience with each of the doctors has always been of the highest level. The doctors always listen to my explanation of symptoms asking additional questions to ascertain my issues. The doctor kindly explained the programme of how my case would progress including a potential option of booking a telephone call for mid day to potentially progress the prognosis. I have been with this practice for over twenty years and really can’t recommend any more highly this practice and the current team Reply from Reedyford Hlth Care Group Tue, 23 Jul 2019 12:45:08 +0100 Dear Patient Thank you for your positive feedback, I will pass your message onto our team. Was recommended this surgery as 'the best of a bad bunch' by my health visitor. Rude reception staff, I appreciate that they have to deal with some patients who treat them very badly and I do empathise but they then treat everybody in a very very rude and unhelpful manner. You really shouldn't be in a customer facing job if you can't deal with people in the right way - I would say training required!
Nurses are always helpful and pleasant however doctors can be hit and miss, some are lovely and some are as rude as the reception staff.
Ended up being rushed to A&E Surgical Triage by the emergency doctor due to a receptionist deeming me not worthy of a doctors appointment after the first doctor prescribed me antibiotics over the phone without even seeing me (and ended up not being strong enough!).
Would not recommend at all, luckily have since moved out of the area as the choice for GPs in east Lancashire is not so great! |
