Holmlands Medical Centre Pros:
Having been a patient with what I had always regarded as a welcoming and professional GP Practice for some 20 years, I was, somewhat apprehensive when it was announced it was to merge with what could best be described as a large “Health Centre.”
Sadly, in what was a depressingly short period of time the “personal touch“ which was so highly valued by myself and countless others was lost. I did attempt to embrace the new regime but to no avail. I became frustrated that I no longer enjoyed the sort of hitherto one-to-one relationship with any of the practitioners. Each appointment left me feeling I was on some sort of fast-moving conveyor belt. “ Beat-the-Clock “ style manner and then exit…always inside ten minutes.
So, in January of 2017 as my sense of discontent with the new set-up continued to rise, I set about researching alternative local health professionals.
It was at this point - to my immense relief I came across the Holmlands Medical Centre ( HMC ).
A matter of just three words – yet an establishment which was to transform my life physically, mentally and emotionally.
Hugely professional, attentive, welcoming, friendly, caring – the list is endless.
Hand on heart, I have been totally amazed by my transformation since I placed my trust in HMC.
After undergoing some initial blood tests I made a series of fundamental changes to my lifestyle; the results not only speak for themselves but are, in my admittedly biased opinion, remarkable.
Weight: Lost two stones in eight months.
Smoking: After almost a lifetime of smoking I, with HMC’s encouragement and expert advice, managed to kick the habit which (incredibly) means that I am now saving money and invest in extra maths and english tutorials for my eight year old niece. And so now, instead of sitting around at home smoking I have rediscovered the joys of travel and spending quality time with family and friends.
I now participate with a local walking & an exercise group. I also volunteer at a local Barnardo’s shop three days a week. What a transformation.
These hugely significant changes in my life have come about as a direct result of my being treated and supervised by a caring team of professionals at HMC, a dedicated team which looks proactively at my health and work cycles in order to improve my health. They have, in essence, provided me with the tools to make a real and lasting difference in my life. This is a challenge which I have accepted. So now, it’s up to me. They advise me. I can choose to take on board their advice and make my life better…….or I could ignore it. I won’t.
Holmlands Medical Centre Cons:
I do sometimes find that I often have to wait longer than expected for my pre-booked appointment. But, this, I believe is the very small price I am required to pay for the very best health care available! |

i would like to say that i have never known such caring doctors and nurses and staff. i have been at the practise for many years now and they have transformed my life after illness. my wife is also a patient and ,i know she is of the same opinion. so two of the doctors, please keep up the wonderful work you both do and also your other doctors and nurses and staff. it is wonderful to know that some old world etiquette still exists in life and you both possess it. many ,many, thanks for all you have done for us both , you both are a great asset to the community of wirral and you certainly administer the treatment that we all desire. |

After a consultation with the doctor he made a thorough and prompt diagnosis which I believe may have saved my life. I was referred to our local hospital immediately were further tests discovered blood clots in my brain and lung. Preventative treatment was started without further delay.
I might add that the diagnosis had not been made when I had been examined earlier by other health professionals when I had attended the a&e department. The doctor I saw had recognised the seriousness of my condition immediately which I believe is due to his experience and commitment to his patients. |
