Seeing is GP is a long, long way winding and tedious road. It is necessary to get past the receptionist gatekeepers, accept a telephone appointment 4 weeks later and being given a 5 minute appointment. My wife is 79, she reported she was feeling very unwell after a fall. A nurse refused to take her blood pressure. Another nurse didn't want to see my wife's bruise from top of her hip to knee. It was black. She was told by a nurse in the Kent and Canterbury Urgent Care Centre to see her GP the following day (After her bad fall) . The Cedars receptionist offered a GP appointment in 4 weeks. When will we see that this is unacceptable? There's a poster in the surgery which states that GPs have told receptionists to take the symptoms so that the Receptionist can send them to the appropriate Cedars specialist. Yet, when my wife asked a receptionist for a mammography the answer was 'A what?', with a confused look. This surgery needs a good shake up. Neither my wife nor I have ever seen a GP, yet according to the website they have 6 GPS. |

Over the last 6 years I have had a few health issues under active thyroid and high blood pressure to which these have been managed and reviewed putting my mind at rest.
End of last year I had a painful knee I was sent straight away for X-ray then MRI and to date I have seen a specialist and today went to Margate hospital for a pre med assessment and am on the waiting list for a replacement knee so with 8 months of going to the surgery by the end of the year will be pain free. Well done the Cedars Surgery |
