Not only have they been rude to me but also extremely unpleasant to other students in the surgery. Lot's of patients are attending the University from overseas. I'd be very upset if I was treated like this whilst travelling abroad. My GP was extremely rushed and, although helpful, was completely disinterested in my medical problem. The physiotherapist is great. Nurse helpful. I would be grateful to hear from you directly so that I can address the issue with the member of staff concerned. Of course, it is not always possible to provide the service that people want. There are even times when expectations are unrealistic or outside scope of the National Health Service. We do our best to overcome the cultural barriers to accessing healthcare and promote best use of the healthcare resources available to students. We are very lucky to have a medical centre on campus, over my visits I have realised the full extent of the service they provide to both local residents, students and their families. It is a practice dealing with many complex needs in the community. The reception staff are really super at communicating with students who speak very little if any English to ensure they receive the best possible care. I have a chronic medical condition which when occurs requires swift medical intervention to enable best treatment management and recovery time, I am always able to get a two minute appointment for which I am eternally grateful. |
