The Firs Residential Home

As a healthcare professional during my career I have encountered / visited many care homes. I can honestly say that the care/ support my father In-law receives is second to none. The Care staff always have a smile and nothing is too much trouble they are always respectful and acknowledge residents individuality. The laundry staff respect residents clothing and turn around is less than 24hours, rehung and pressed within his wardrobe and socks always paired up!! He enjoys his morning chit chat with them. Kitchen staff provide homely nutritious meals in the dining room. Tables are always laid with table cloths and napkins and mealtimes are a social event. The domestic staff keep the home exceptionally clean, tidy and smelling fresh , always ask the residents if they can enter their rooms if occupied during their rounds. The activity co-ordinators are always engaging residents in a variety of activities, the canal barge trip with fish n chip supper has been a firm favourite. Management team and administration staff are always available and approachable , the home is extremely well led. I darent forget the maintainence staff who ensures the outside spaces/ furniture are well maintained. Apologies if I have forgotten anyone it's not intentional .
