I have shopped in Gordon's for the last 20 years. I have always had the best of service until today. I use a nasal spray and as I am sure you can imagine it is hard to know when it is empty. It is repeat prescription.i requested it through my GP and they said it would be ready on Wednesday. As my hayfever is really bad at the minute I thought I could ask the chemist if they could advance me the spray. I wasn't requesting diazapin or cocodamal a simple nasal spray. The young man informed me that unfortunately they couldn't give it to me as it was a long time since I had got it. The pharmacist (a young lady) proceeded to address me from behind where they put the scripts together. So everyone at the counter could hear. She adviced me to contact my GP to get the script earlier as she couldn't give it to me as it was over a month since I last received it. I was embarrassed she should have approached me and said this, but besides that, I felt she was making out I was lying, or maybe going to sell it on the black market.she then proceeded to advice me I could purchase it. Which I would have done but they didn't have a similar one. I went to the GP and thankfully they were able to supply me with the script. When I handed it in, the young lady came and handed it to me and was very patronising in her tone that she was glad that I got myself sorted. I think a bit of common sense is lacking and definitely customer service. I understand there can be problems with giving out scripts without a prescription but maybe a bit of training should be applied so that customers don't feel like they are being made out to be liars.
