On first glance looks to be an impressive, clean and well stocked pharmacy. However I found it very much lacking when it came to helping me when I found myself unwell. This wasn't the first time I've questioned the support and clinical guidance available, but on this occasion it was very obviously lacking and I was in a very bad way. Called up to ensure an urgent care prescription had been received, not there yet so contacted GP again who assured me that it would be with the pharmacy in 10 minutes. Went straight to pharmacy feeling very unwell, was in need of assistance, in tears and scared because my asthma was severely out of control and I was in pain. Staff unsympathetic, bland, verging on lacking any compassion at all. I felt very much like I was in the way as I tried to explain my problem. Prescription not yet arrived, desperate for any to alleviate my symptoms I bought some over the counter products and sat down to call the GP. A whole hour and ten minutes after arrive at the chemist, and an hour of being on hold to the GP the prescription was sent through and filled. None of the three staff made any attempt to assist or reassure me. The registered pharmacist showed no interest in assessment or taking a history. I felt very embarrassed to be unwell there, I felt that I was in the way. In my opinion, based on this experience this is not a facility I can rely on. At a time where it is impressed upon us that we must make better use of healthcare resources, such as pharmacists, I was disappointed in the service provided. Please remember your roles to care and to look after people who are unwell, it's not just about the add on sales. You could have made a difference to my health and comfort, I really wanted some help and I didn't reciece it.
