After several years of us being concerned at the lack of progress our 9 year old son was making in his reading and writing we had him assessed and not surprisingly we were told he had Dyslexia which had been our thoughts for some time. A recommendation was that Behavioural Optometry may be very helpful for him, as one of the things he struggled with was keeping his place on a line when reading. This optician was recommended to us by an acquaintance who had coloured lense glasses for her Dyslexia. Our son is about to complete a six week course in Behavioural Optometry and we cannot describe the improvement in his reading, writing and concentration. His confidence has grown immeasurably in both his reading and writing and we are absolutely certain this is due to the exercises suggested and practiced with the optician which we have then done at home. Whilst this form of intervention may not be "mainstream" it has been extremely effective and fun for our son and we have all "had a go" at the exercises which makes it less of a chore and something to be embarrassed about. An extremely effective intervention delivered in a professional, calm and friendly environment. |

I can't thank my optician enough for their expertise care and professionalism over the last 15 years. They have helped my son greatly with patching and altering the prescription of his glasses correspondingly. They have also helped me dramatically reduce the number of migraines that I have with special filter glasses. Incredible. Thank you. |
