My grandad spent his last few months at link house. He had many health problems. I can not thank the staff at Link House for their care and support. They managed to let my grandad live his last couple months in dignity and comfort. They were also very supportive towards the family. Nothing was too much for them and they always made sure he had everything he wanted. His room was always clean and the food served always looked well prepared. Thank you Link House. |

My mother spent the last 4 years of her life at this home, she had severe dementa and unfortunately died on 27 December 2014.
They have 3 floors in this care home, the ground floor is for elderly people who are frail and can no longer look after themselves. The first floor is their medical floor with nurses for bedridden patients.
The top floor, where my mother was, is the dementia floor - which is secure and you need a code to use the lift and stairs for their own protection.
The home is wonderful, certainly passed my 'nose' test (some homes we went to were appalling and smelled dreadful - I think some of this is caused by carpeting) you cannot help accidents happening - but as they have these special rubber type floors that look like wood - they can be cleaned and bleached spotlessly clean - whereas some homes we visited had very nice carpets but these all hold the smells etc.
The food is fantastic - very good quality and plenty of it - They only have a full english breakfast on Saturday mornings but its lovely. They have cereals, toast milk porridge etc other days. I cannot fault the carers - it is not an easy job looking after people with dementia - but they were wonderful with all the residents. After mum had been there a couple of years the management changed and I was very worried that this would mean things would change - thankfully there were a few changes made - it was streamlined slightly but the care remained very good.
I would recommend this home to anyone - I felt my mother was very safe, and well looked after - you hear such horror stories about some places - but I felt at ease the first time we went there and the last !! My father visited my mother every day she was there and they were also very good and kind with him too. |
