I placed my father in this home only to find him in a nursing home where they did not have anyone trained to deal with his nursing needs. I also found my father moved to an attic bedroom. I managed to move him to another home. I complained to the CQC and am amazed that the home has not been closed down. The home is not fit for purpose !

I live every day regretting placing my father in this horrendous 'care home'. I find it very hard writing these words as I should have moved him straight away as soon as I realised the care was so bad. I reported them to CQC but they continually seem to get away with keeping this home open. Dad was treated so badly, locked away in an attic room in severe hot weather with no windows open or any form of ventilation. He had no water by his bed and was unable to get out of bed himself so was totally reliant on the help of the carers. They made a complete mess of his medication that was so important that it was administered same time each morning/evening. I only have 3000 words to text my review, I would need far more to explain my frustration and sadness that I didn't remove him earlier than I did from this shocking 'care home'. I am not one to leave negative reviews about any business, but please do not make the same mistake I made and be taken in by the 'managements' false promises.

My Mum was a resident for a little over a year. she entered the home with horrendous leg ulcer that we were told would never heal, and a host of other problems. My Dad was determined to visit everyday : without being asked the staff organised dinner for him everyday (no charge), organised taxis and generally made him feel at home. They were the sort of cheerful down-to earth staff that you want when the priority was care and comfort for my Mum, and they were endlessly patient with her when she was not cooperating. They really did their best to make some quality of life for a very ill woman, and there was a lot of cheerful times when they chatted and joked with her. And as for the leg ulcer, eight months of careful treatment and it was healed. Beverley Park is not perfect : no home is, but I never had a moment's worry over my Mum's care. She was never going to get better, and they understood that and tried their best to make her as comfortable and content as they could, which was a challenge. And when it was clear that she was getting worse they ensured that we were involved in drawing up the right plan for her, which they followed to the letter. Her death was protracted, and they could not have been more accommodating as the family took up residence over several days. And they turned up to the funeral, which is entirely typical of them. I remain very grateful for the care they provided to my Mum, and the support they gave to me and my family. This is a very good home, as it is a home that cares about the people in it above all else.
