Avoid this place at all cost in my opinion .my poor stepfather went in there expecting to leave for at least six weeks and next day we left him and he was fine sitting up eating rice pudding came back two hours later to find him almost unconscious with his eyes rolled back to his head shouting no more no more he had deteriorated incredibly quickly we were not informed of this nor was there any care package in place I had to call a ambulance because the so-called nursing home doesn't supply nursing not in my opinion anyway the standards are appalling send your love one they're at their own peril

If you want your beloved to die at home with his cat on the bed and you holding his hand this is not the place. I was referred by nurses that he should be transferred where for what would be the last 3 days of his life, and wrongly assumed this meant he would be kept more painfree than at home. On the 2nd day I was with him until 5.15pm and told to come back after 6pm. when he would have been changed. He was. I left a man eating and drinking and talking about football results with the remote control for our TV in his hand to . I know..back at . 7pm to find him tucked under bedclothes up to his chin and his eyes rolled back in his head. He managed to say "no more, now more", I ran down to corridor to the under manager saying how dare you leave him like that but they just left me and went home. The night staff came on duty and called out the district nurse for injection which had not been necessary before, He died 28.5 hours later as expected under the Liverpool Pathway. I was never able to say goodbye and blame myself 18months later for letting him go into the care of strangers who did not want him there as they repeatedly complained about the smell his illness was creating in their home. I broke my promise to him due to this place.
