Carewatch (North Birmingham)

My wife has received home care from Carewatch for over a year. She needs help with all her personal care, and because she suffers from both Parkinson’s and Severe Dementia, she is frail, susceptible to falling, and needs someone with her all the time. Carewatch has arranged for her to have two regular carers assisting her during the week for most of each day. The carers have always been so gentle and patient, and at the same time encourage her to do things for herself whenever possible – truly professional. It is quite easy to tell how good they are when I see her smiling bright and chirpy after they have helped her in the shower or as they sit beside her later in the day, talking and laughing together. Carewatch have also arranged to provide 24-hour care for periods of two and three weeks. This has been invaluable as it has not been possible to find a residential place in the Midlands, which meets her needs, and which we can book sufficiently in advance to arrange a holiday. I have been able to take much needed breaks, knowing that she will be cared for by familiar people who we have confidence in, and she is cared for in familiar surroundings. I do not know how we would manage without Carewatch – we would not manage. They do deserve more than five stars, and I would recommend them highly.
