Duke Street Domiciliary Care Agency is in Settle. It is owned and managed by North Yorkshire County Council. The agency provides a predominantly reablement service known as the Short Term Assessment and Reablement Team (START) to people in their own homes. The service is provided to people who live in Settle and the surrounding rural areas, such as Bentham, Ingleton and Austwick. People are provided with care and support for up to six weeks, to help them regain their independence and confidence following an illness or injury. The agency also provides a small number of care packages on a longer term basis.
