I can not believe the experience i have just had with a receptionist! Trying to get an urgent appointment for someone who has just been discharged after a suicide attempt. Her attitude was absolutely appalling. When asking for a particular Dr who wasn’t available, a comment was then made about holding of killing herself until tomorrow! Having spent the last 3 hours on the phone to urgent care she is now safe! The staff on reception used to care and help as much as possible. Now there are one or two who are lovely and the rest are horrific to deal with. Some of the reception staff either need some priority training in dealing with patients or sacking! The Dr’s themselves are amazing! And a few receptionists! |

My family and I have been using this surgery for 12 years now. It can be difficult to book a same day appointment on the phone as many people call as soon as the lines are open so the receptionists are very busy. However we find it easier to book non emergency appointments online and the few occasions we had an emergency, the medical and reception staff did their best to squeeze us in on the day. Sometimes appointments overrun but we have never had to wait too long and the electronic check in system warns you if your practitioner is running late. All the staff are courteous and helpful, the doctors and nurses have always given us accurate up to date information and discussed treatment options with us, helping us to make an informed decision. Reply from Papworth Surgery Sun, 18 Mar 2018 16:04:17 Z Thank you very much for your lovely comments. I have passed your comments on to the whole team. I have only been with this surgery for a year, but I am very very proud to be working with such a professional, friendly team, who always go above and beyond to ensure that patients get the best possible care always. We wanted to register to this GP. Many paperwork done, and they promised the registering. Nothing happened in two weeks so they were called to inform us about registration. They said if we haven't got calling till that time our registration is accepted. Added to this the receptionist didn't ask our name to give this information. Three months later when one of our sons really needed to see the doctor and went there they informed us we are not registered what's more there aren't our documentations in the office and they don't have right to register patients from our village. We are foreigners so all health system is brand new for us but this process was very unworthy and showing incompetence. |
