I was able to have an appointment with the duty Nurse during my current illness on several occasions, the treatment I received was excellent from both the Nurses and any concerns regarding the recommended treatment I received was always checked with the on-duty GP if there were any doubts regarding the prescribed medications I was given. I felt totally confident with the treatments I was prescribed along with my regular medications. Nothing was too much trouble, and I was treated with the utmost respect and care by everyone.
This Surgery has considerably improved during the last two years and we consider it is now a very good to excellent Health Centre especially as it is always very busy and the Receptionists always try to find an appointment especially when the problems are urgent. With a large catchment area and too few doctors those who run this surgery seem more interested in money than patients. Booked appointments are for weeks in advance so usually useless unless you have an ongoing condition that requires monitoring. Ring for an appointment on the morning is the usual quote but usually by the time you get through the message tells you all are taken. Having said this both doctors and nurses are helpful and do listen it's just getting that far that's the issue. The surgery is a little better than 2 years ago but needs to improve considerably to meet the needs of its patients. Households are increasing in the area and with other surgeries refusing to take on patients most people are stuck.
