Came to see doctor today for some blood results and to discuss symptoms of my mental health.
Very uncomfortable, no welcome, speaking about results before I sat down, very matter of fact and worse of all felt very rushed.
Was in the consultation room for 4 minutes. It says clearly on reception that the time for each appointment could be 10 minutes. Will not be seeing this doctor again. Read a little bit about the GP on his profile at BMI hospital i was surprised when I read that he has an interest in mental health. It didnt feel that way to me. | ||||||

I have been a patient at this practice my whole life (a long time!) and the doctors, nurses and other staff have always been helpful and supportive....in fact my usual doctor is an absolute star! However she only works 2 days a week which makes it a bit difficult getting in to see her sometimes. It can get very frustrating as appointments do seem to be like gold dust (even online appointments are non existent nowadays - I’ve just tried and there’s none available up to mid-October), but I’m thinking that is a problem in every practice nowadays not just this one. Do I wish I could get an appointment when I want one? of course I do - but they can’t magic them out of thin air and there’s only so many hours in a day. Saying that, I have often been told to make a telephone appointment instead - that I don’t need to go in to discuss how I’m doing with my medication etc - but I’ve never been able to actually get one (unless the doctor has made it for me herself at a previous appointment) due to the appointments booking up “a few weeks in advance” (that’s what I was told last time I tried)....maybe these kind of appointments shouldn’t be mentioned as freely if there’s limited availability. There’s also one other small thing....I wish that the recorded “did you know...” message that plays constantly whilst you are in the phone queue didn’t play quite so often....it doesn’t make the wait any easier and it’s played that often I can recite it word for word by the time I get through to the reception team! Anyway, as I’ve said, I really wouldn’t go anywhere else and am lucky to have such a great doctor, but is it a perfect surgery? no it isn’t .....I honestly don’t think that exists anywhere anymore - however, hearing stories from friends using other practices, I believe Park View is one of the better ones so I continue to recommend it. | ||||||
