Multiple occasions where reception staff are not helpful and downright rude. Simple things such as sending automated appointments and then when you call to rearrange they say that you must first drive in to pick up paperwork to register a newborn, then take it back, then make the appointment. Doesn't make any sense and we accept we should have registered the baby earlier but the attitude is just not needed. Previous experiences have been no better. Our health visitor also needed to complain to them when my wife came off the phone in tears with post natal depression when the receptionist was rude. Didn't get a response from the practice manager when requested. Receptionist also thinks it's odd for my wife to want to see a female GP for post-natal checkup. It's just basic manners that are missing even if you disagree with us, or are frustrated we haven't registered the newborn, the attitude from reception is not acceptable.
No-one wants to go to the doctors and I don't envy working on a GP reception desk; GPs will be busy on one side and poorly public on the other, however there is no need to be so rude and we don't experience this in other areas of the NHS. |
