I saw the dr and a medical student today for my 2 year old daughter who has URTI. The service and support was second to none. This surgery has always been very helpful and quick to see my two young children and I have always managed to see a doctor straight away. The medical student present during my appointment today was excellent, bright and alert, very talkative and supportive of my issues. They expressed clear concern and throughout the appointment asked my opinion and reassured me when I did not understand something. The medical student is a credit to the NHS and we need more of these types of caring, considerate people. I too work as a health visitor in the NHS and understand how it is to be a parent with a sick child and also care for a patient who has very concerned parents. The service was great and I thank the surgery for their time and effort in seeing my baby so quickly. The student acted very professionally yet showed elements of reciprocity and containment towards my baby. They spoke to her in a lovely child-friendly manner and approached her in a caring way. Thank you so much |

I recently attended this practice with a rather nasty eye complaint in which my left eye had become very badly swollen and I was seen as an emergency by a GP Registrar. This Doctor was very thorough and assessed problem to be conjunctivitis. Because I am diabetic and had a vitrectomy on the same eye some years before, they brought in one of the senior doctors at the surgery to give their opinion on it. They both arrived at the same conclusion but as a secondary precaution took the trouble to contact the eye clinic at Royal Stoke Hospital to seek their views on the matter. I was also subsequently given a prescription for a course of antibiotics. As it took some time to get through to them I was later contacted at home by phone and a message left for me to get in touch with the surgery as soon as I was able to do so. When I rang them,it appears the eye clinic had advised that they felt an immediate visit was not necessary, but full details of my various options including making an appointment to attend the eye clinic or a revisit to the surgery had been left on my updated computer records. I decided to see whether the antibiotics were successul and in the event they cleared the infection up so it was not necessary for me to do anything further I consider this to be a perfect example of good care and excellent medical practice, the doctors concerned having not just taken the time and trouble to sort my problem out but by going the extra mile to cover all eventualities, to the benefit of the patient. |
