I am awaiting an operation for total repalcement of the right knee. I attended the Ashford Hospital on 31st July but the operation could not take place because of a previous tendon fracture repair. I am in conciderable pain from my right knee and requested a prescription from the practice for Ibuprophen and Omeprazol to tide me over until a new operation date. The Doctor phoned and suggestded instead of Ibuprophen that I had Naproxin. I asked some questions about this and was assured it would be correct for the problem. I have taken 3 in accordance with the instructions and wondered why I was feeling so ill as a result. On reading the Information sheet I found that several reasons why I should not have been prescribed this drug. 1. I am on 30mg Losartin. 2. I suffer from COPD and am using inhalers. 3. I have Muniers Disease (well controlled with Betahistane). 4. I have urine continence problems as a result of a small bladder and 5. I have a lesion on my left kidney. I have reverted to my own purchased supply of Ibuprophen and Paracetemol and already feel much better as a result. The prescription was delivered on the day it was ordered and I was satisfied with the GP consultation. Not with the outcome. |

I've had some physical health problems going on for 3 months now but seeing a physio privately has been a big help. When I requested to see a doctor on the same day because my physio was very concerned about swelling in one leg/foot, later in the day Paul called (a paramedic) and spoke to me on the phone, really listening to what was going in. After a while, he suggested that I have a 'face-to-face' appointment with him so that he could get a better idea about the problem. He saw me and was excellent! All in one day!! Dr Kanag and Dr Sanchez have been brilliant GP's as well throughout. Really happy especially in a very complicated world these days and they are under more pressure than ever now. |
