After trying to get an appt for 2 days and not being able to even get a phone call to get antibiotics for a sinus infection my husband had to ring 111 for the prescription which was issued immediately at 3.30 PM ,I understand the surgery is stretched but to leave someone in a position of having an untreated infection is not really acceptable , we tried to get it issued on the prescription ordering line but couldn't do that, it's a shame no other option is suggested at point of contact and its left to the patient to explore all avenues and as we don't have a choice of surgeries we just have to put up or shut up basically | ||||||

have tried am and pm today to get appointment explaine i work full time and would need either early or late appointment nothing avaliable
explained i was up all night with pain in my upper back that took my breath away and told no appointments
asked about a Saturday appointment nothing there either
its a joke i was told i could pre book i laughed and said ill book to be ill in two weeks so i get an appointment
they say go to gp and not hospital to save nhs but if i get pain again tonight i will go to hospital a/e and explain my gp got not see me unless i am ill in two weeks time | ||||||

Called meridian surgery this morning never ever had a problem before . Sorry we have run out of appointments call back this afternoon. Called back at 2.30 pm line engaged until 2.45 pm got through sorry no appointments. I said just need a certificate as been unwell all week with flu . Sorry you aren’t an emergency our doctors don’t see people with flu . Well ok I get that you don’t want it spread around the surgery . Can you arrange a call from the doctor . No sorry we all out of appointments call tomorrow maybe you will get a doctor to call you but can’t confirm this . Please can you get a doctor to call me . No the flu is not an emergency no one will see you even if you turn up to be seen . Ok I say I am an emergency I can’t breathe. A little exaggerated no sorry you told me you have only flu it’s not serious like we say our doctors will refuse to see you . Ok. It I am just asking for a three min call . Sorry love call tom flu is trivial . Huff and puff sorry flu is trivial. Me ok well tell that to my granddaughter who was so ill she was admitted to hospital last week and my mum who is also very ill . Muffle as she laughs with her colleges and put on mute . Sorry the flu is trivial . So mad will go back to work tom as my doctors won’t see or speak to me . Although do feel a lot better tonight . But point is they told me also the hospitals also refuse to see people with flu . This is why our hospitals are over run . We had this with Layla temp over 104,having nose bleeds sorry you are waisting nhs time . Such awful service . If I call them got a sore through and ears hurt they see me straight away . Sorry meridian but feel a big let down today . And your staff are rude could even hear them moaning before they took the call as they forgot the mute joking I will go to work tom despite being ill . I work in an office I am still infectious I can’t spend the next two days being fobbed of by your staff that I am a waist of time . Like my granddaughter who was sent home from Eastbourne hospital as most of there cases tested negative from flu . But she did only two years of age taken by ambulance by her gp. Now I have no choice my works req a cert which I can’t get . If I get further ill this will be used . | ||||||
