I had to go to the out of hours Drs at Broomfield Hospital on Christmas Eve for an Ear Infection. Got meds and am starting to feel better. I am still suffering badly with blocked ears. We rang the surgery yesterday morning a total of 253 times continuously to it being constantly engaged. I tried myself today 72 times continuously. Constantly engaged. This is not good enough. |

Contacted GP Thursday afternoon to book an appointment as didn’t feel great for more than a week - possible chest infection. Due to my symptoms the doctor didn’t want to see me so I was offered the phone conversation with GP. After explaining what what my symptoms are: cough attacs, not being able to brief, temperature, sweats doctor told me to take paracetamol and book appointment if no changes. On Thursday night I got maybe an hour sleep, felt really poorly. As per the GP rules I contacted them at 8am on Friday - took me exactly 24 calls to get through. 30 minutes of trying to connect to the practice. Booked an emergency appointment for 10.30 same day. Just to be clear I needed to take time off work to visit GP. Arrived to the practice at 10.25 went inside - the check in screen didn’t work so I was waiting in the queue to the receptionist. 2 females spending more time on the phone rather than dealing with patients. After waiting for 20 minutes and getting to the security to let them know I am here for my appointment I have been told that doctor marked me as a “no show” as I am late. I. Have explained that I was there on time, but their check in system didn’t work so I was waiting in the queue. Then the female I spoken to checked with the doctor if the doctor can see me what was a no and I was offered appointment in the afternoon. Despising me having a melt down and feeling horrible, taking time off work I was treated with no respect. Ended up not seeing a doctor and definitely never coming back to the practice. The worst thing is that is literally nothing I can do. Horrible staff and zero personal approach to people who don’t feel great! |

GP, who is excellent, requested me to have a blood test fairly urgently and assured me the receptionists would get me an appointment this week. Not the case, I was told by an unsmiling and unhelpful receptionist that there was nothing, despite me telling her what my doctor had said. and as a result i had to spend my entire morning travelling to Broomfield and waiting at walk-in. Not the first time I’ve had an issue with the attitude of the reception staff here. Very poor...how do such people get jobs dealing with the public? |
