The doctor I see is honestly such a lovely doctor. She is extremely empathetic and kind, as well as taking time to really listen to me during the few consultation I've had with her. I've seen many doctors at the surgery, who are all also fantastic, but I think she really goes above and beyond for the patients she sees. Would 100% recommend her to anyone. The receptionist, also, are always very accommodating when it comes to seeing a GP, may it be for an emergency or routine appointment. Really happy with the service. |

Needed surgical dressing for my wife late yesterday but the nurse had already left and the receptionist made an appointment for me at 9:15 today.
The nurse was very rude to me saying I had wasted an appointment just for this but when I explained that it was the receptionist who did that I did not get an apology.
Also previously I would be given the dressing from the surgery but this time she wrote out a prescription saying in a matter of fact way that their stock is for their patients. If my wife had been able to come to the surgery would she not have had her dressing changed there and then using their stock?
Doctors and receptionists are normally very good but I suggest the nurse go on a bedside manner course.
Your surgery says rudeness towards staff will not be tolerated - doesn’t this work both ways? |

I visited the clinic today on my feet to sign up as a new patient because I will soon run out of prescribed beta blockers. I had with me my Photo ID, proof of address and downloaded and printed form GMS1 that I prefilled at home. However, the receptionist did not accept my application "due to not bringing copies of my ID and proof of address". She stated that she wouldn't make copies and it was my responsibility to bring. Then she handed me another form GMS1 and asked me to fill it again. I asked her why do I need to fill up this form again, she couldn't produce any reason. I was unable to produce my NHS number at the moment, she wouldn't accept my application without it. She refused to proceed with my application or assist me. She even stated that if I sign up now I won't be seen by a GP for another 30 days. This experience only caused me additional anxiety for that I wasted my time and couldn't sign up as a patient. Stay away from this clinic. Reply from Crosslands Surgery Wed, 18 Apr 2018 13:18:47 +0100 We are very sorry to hear you have had difficulty registering with the practice and your comment has been discussed with the reception team. We do require new patients to complete a new patient pack which consists of a GMS1 form and a new patient registration questionnaire – I apologise if you were requested to complete another GMS1 form when as you say you had already downloaded and completed it. We require your NHS number (if you already have one) to assist us in ensuring your registration can be matched to your existing medical records held at your previous surgery to ensure smooth transition of your records to our practice. We have recently stopped photocopying for patients (due to excessive demand) the relevant documents and we request copies of an ID document and proof of address when completing the registration forms. I am unsure why you have been informed you will not be seen for 30 days as we offer advanced booking appointments (current next advanced booking is in 2 weeks’ time) and also same day emergency appointments for patients registered at the practice from the date of registration. Should you wish to discuss your registration request further please do not hesitate to contact our Practice Manager, Ms Bobby Bahra |
