Our daughter has been within the DHR Newberry Care provision for some years now and we cannot fault the quality of care provided. All staff are welcoming, professional and care deeply for the clients in their care. Contact with home is regular and we are always contacted when she is poorly-even if just a heavy cold.
Medical care is outstanding- and the nursing team are always available if we wish to talk.
Personal choice and dignity are viewed as being very important and all staff go that extra mile, always, to ensure that despite clients' disabilities they access a wonderful quality of life with plenty of activities, interests, trips out etc .
The premises are always spotlessly clean, the food well prepared and home cooked, the range of activities and therapies available are superb(and they actually DO take place, ie they are not posted as being available just to appear to be offering something in reality they do not) and above all our daughter and her house mates are always so happy and content.
Relationships as between staff and clients are excellent also-always so natural, joking, happy with lots of fun and laughter whenever we visit-often unannounced!
Management is always available to listen to any queries or concerns-and these are acted upon promptly and details of action taken fed back
To sum up, there is nowhere we would prefer our daughter to be, and there is nowhere she would rather be, than at DHR.
DHR enable their service users to access a quality of life we all take for granted, and which they the service users so richly deserve. |
