The Knoll Nursing Home

I have had my sister in The Knoll for 2 years now and visit every other day at various times (unannounced). My sisters room is light, airy, pristinely clean and homely. The staff are always available to speak to who have always without exception regardless of the pressure and stress of the nature of their work been kind welcoming and courteous. I visit my sister in the lounge and in her room depending on where she chooses to socialise. I am always offered drinks and even meals.....free!!! The food is always of an excellent quality with excellent presentation. From my observation there is always a huge variety of meals available and ample staff to assist patients who need it. I can honestly say I have eaten in fabulous restaurants all over the world and The Knoll food is way up there.

As soon as I walked through the door the stench of stale urine hit me, the carpets need to be cleaned or changed and the general standard is not good. I was told by the person I visited that an employee dropped a tablet on the floor dusted it off and gave it to her to take. I was also told that cold food and cold tea was served to her and obviously she didn't eat or drink it which is not very good for someone with failing health. When I rang up to enquire how much it is to stay here a person answered the phone and said they didn't know because they were one of the inmates!!!!! Horrible place I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
