It’s been a week since my operation at the rivers! And had to leave a review because I am so grateful for all the staff minus 1 nurse unfortunately. I arrived for my surgery and was taken straight to my room which may I add is like a hotel room so clean bright airy with a lovely en-suite. Unfortunately the first nurse I initially saw wasn’t very smiley or even seemed like she cared in the slightest. Was very unwelcoming and actually a bit rude and this did make me anxious. The anaesthetist came to see me before I went in for surgery and was very friendly and made me feel much more relaxed! Soon after went in for surgery. I went in for my surgery and woke up to lovely nurses in recovery who were chatty and could tell they were just focused on getting me as comfortable and pain free as possible! Was taken back to my room where the miserable nurse was there with me I did try making conversation with her but was not really interested so left it. But her shift was over and I then had a few of the most lovely nurses I cannot express enough how brilliant they were I really wish I got their names as they made the whole experience so much more bare able! My night nurse was equally just as amazing and she couldn’t do enough for me! Again I can’t remember her name! The morning shift nurse was lovely! And although she wasn’t on long before I was discharged she was very attentive and helpful! The nurses at the rivers are faultless! Apart from one! Thank you so much for all your care |

Was admitted to meadow ward as a day patient (first date had already been cancelled) All observations completed, saw the anaesthetist, and the lady from physio, gowned up awaiting to go down, when the nurse and anaesthetist came back in an hour later to say operation has been cancelled as consultant has not turned up |

Its taken me some time to find this site! I would just like to say a big Thank You to all the staff in the Endoscopy Department last Friday for a Colonoscopy. I was a little nervous, even though I've had this procedure before, but was concerned that this time I was sick a little after taken the second dose of the solution. According to the nurse I spoke to, this happens to lots of people had had no bearing on my age. I had sedation and woke up to a tray of tea and toast and the nurse explained to me what had happened and the way forward. I might need some diet advice from my GP to avoid certain foods, but generally all seems OK. There will be a result of the three specimens taken and that my GP will receive this information. I think too many people moan and not enough of us praise anyone who takes care of us in whatever capacity. Say a big thank you to the team. Pamela J Hewitt. |
