Chelsfield Park Hospital

I have been awaiting a procedure for about a month which is a positive as I got the appointment so quickly. They sent me the pre-assessment pack to fill in, including a list to tick off my dietary requirements. I ticked vegan as I have intolerances. My procedure is in the evening and I have just been seen by the kitchen staff for my order for when I get back - She said they can’t offer me a salad as the kitchen’s shut and the only sandwich options have meat, fish cheese and eggs. Not good. Luckily I brought my own food with me. I just want to know why I was offered the option of providing my dietary requirements if I wasn’t going to get it anyway? Options should be made available to vegans.

From the moment I booked my initial consultation I was treated professionally. Surgery was booked for the 9th June 2018 and had to stay in for 3 days which I was not looking forward to. All the staff were amazing from the nurses to the catering staff. The night nurse that I had for all my 3 nights was amazing so caring and attentive. I had an infection due to a high temperature and within 5 minutes a chest specialist was in my nice private room checking out the infection. Within the next couple of hours i had my canular removed from my neck and was receiving antibiotics and the nurse was checking my temperature and blood pressure every hour day and night. I couldnt asked to be looked after any better so happy with the treatment I received. Would highly recommend if anyone is considering weight loss surgery The only negative i have to mention is the admin side of thing for a self paying client was a bit frustrating with me having to chase the information up to 48 before I was due to be admitted Thank you Katie

What a truley amazing hospital. From the minute you walk in, you feel like a VIP and that you as a person matter. The waiting area is beautiful and the staff are clean, smart and really want to be there. I had foot surgery with my Consultant and their amazing anetastist, I cant rember their name, but they put me at ease straight away and made me laugh and kept me entertained. I have a terrible needle phobia and terrible anxiety around medical equipment and it was no problem to any of the staff, who could not do enough for me. The rooms are beautiful, totally private, ensuring dignity, and privacy at all times. The Consultants receptionist is a truley wonderful person, they are quick to respond to any emails you said them with any worries or concerns you may have - how every big or small and they really care about you and your well being. The nurses where amazing, the two nurses who helped me first when I arrived where like magic angels, the night nurse was genuine and thoughtful to me. Any time I pressed the buzzer for assistance, a nurse was with me in under 2 minutes. Pleased to help me with a smile, with pain relif, the toilet or a snack. The food was wonderful and the catering team where so friendly. I would say the food was on par with many top London restaurants . The soup was deifinatley home made, the salad was fresh and crisp and full English breakfast was amazing. I would like to thank chelsfield park hospital for for being outstanding, the nurses for being kind, hard working and thoughtful at all times. The Consultant and their surgery team for being the best, the catering team for making amazing food, the reception team for being welcoming and last but not least the Consultants PA, for being very kind to me. I would advise anyone who has a foot problem to see this Consultant at The Chelsefied, and that I wish I had not left it this long to have surgery. I would like to also advise people how very very important it is to have private medical insure, it not as expensive as you might think and you cant put a price on health. If I did not have insurance, I would not have been able to afford to have this operation and there is no way I would have been looked after, had the privacy I had and cared for in the was I was with The NHS, which is under immense presure. I have been very badly treated on the NHS in the past which is why I would never use it and always go through the insurance. Many thanks once again. MS Gill.
