I rang this pharmacy at 10.46pm and asked if they had any infant formula that I could buy for my 8-week-old baby that was appropriate for milk allergy. I told them we had a dr appointment the following day to be properly diagnosed but that I needed some immediately because my baby was screaming after each feed with standard formula. I know it is a milk alergy because having cut out diary from my diet my baby now no longer has a reaction to my breast milk. But i’ve run out of breast milk, i’m not making enough, and if I give the baby normal formula it causes immediate pain and she screams for ages. The pharmacist said they would sell me some special formula but i’d have to hurry as they shut a 11pm. I said i’ll come immediately, i’m less than 3 miles away. I drove as fast as I could to get there and arrived at 11.04, the shop was already shut, dark and everyone had gone home. How heartless to leave me with no feed for my baby, I cried outside the shop, there was nowhere else I could go to get formula. Had no choice but to listen to my baby cry for the night because she was hungry and I couldn’t feed her. You would think the pharmacist could have waited 4 mins past closing when they knew I was coming and what I needed. Expected better from medical professional. Generally expect better of as decent person. I will not pin any hopes on this pharmacy in future, feel quite traumatised that I was essentially offered help and then abandoned when it mattered.
