I called the pharmacy at 10:41am this morning 05/09/18 and barely got a chance to say hello before the lady on the other end said "sorry can you hang on" and left me on the phone for a further 7 minutes before I got frustrated and hung up. I could hear her serving a customer at the counter and she continued to service other customers at the counter all the while I'm sitting on the phone listening to her laughing and joking with another colleague. I've tried calling the pharmacy back at 10:48am, 10:49am and 10:57am (longest length: 16 minutes later) and surprise, surprise the line is still engaged, presumably because the phone has been left off the hook and forgotten about. Is it now a very low standard of practice that a customer in person is more important than a customer on the phone? Absolutely appalling behaviour from someone who is supped to be an adult with some sense of customer service skills. How these people end up in customer service roles is beyond me!
