Had an appointment booked not open when get there are after walking to it having to walk back not good

Having only ever used one opticians in my life, I was actually looking forward to trying somewhere new and closer to home. The first struggle was getting an appointment - they do not offer Saturday appointments apart from 1 Saturday per month which wasn't very helpful considering I work during the week. Obviously I made an appointment but it was about a month in advance which for an opticians is a long wait. The parking is a challenge as the car park to use is actually outside of a busy Nisa store. This is a bit of a nightmare on a Saturday when other locals are obviously parking to buy their shopping. It almost feels like you shouldn't be parked there. Once inside the opticians, it's a very small building with the reception desk (if you can call it that) almost in the door way. There were two members of staff working one who appeared to be training and another person. I was asked to sit with the trainee where they would then ask me a few questions prior to my appointment. Obviously the questions were all very standard such as 'do you wear glasses?' and 'do you have trouble with your vision?' as to be expected but, I wasn't happy that this had to be done in the main area of the opticians. On heading into the opticians room, the optometrist was very friendly and was really good. The only fault was the fact that they asked me all the questions again. They checked my eyes without looking at my previous prescription which I was pleased about as they were making an accurate judgement rather than being swayed by my previous glasses strength. After the examination, the optometrist was really helpful in suggesting glasses which would be better suited for my job. When I went back into the main reception area, they took my prescription and started telling me about the lenses which the optometrist had suggested. There was never any opportunity for me to look around the frames they had in the store nor did they mention any prices. Instead, just assumed that I would be making a purchase. At this point I was feeling like they were more about making a quick sale. After a few phone calls, they proceeded to tell me the prices of the lens which started at £150.00 plus £10.00 as they would be fitted to my own frames. They said this as though it was nothing but to me, it would actually be cheaper to buy new glasses all together. I noticed that when someone else came into the store, this person was actually really rude towards them by passing comment about who had come along to the appointment with them. At this, I asked for my prescription to take else where. This person was very hesitant to hand it to me but eventually I was given a copy and left the store. Never will I be returning to this opticians again for either an eye test or glasses!
