I started using this opticians under its previous name as my Mam and Dad had. When other ophthalmic businesses were being criticised, for overcharging and persuading, customers to purchase expensive frames. The optician tried to persuade me, to have an NHS, frame in preference to the more expensive frame I wanted. because " You will hardly need to wear them". On another occasion I couldn't make my mind up about, a choice of frame, and I had narrowed it down to three. When I remarked " I wish Cheryl (my ex wife, who was taking the children to school) was here" They replied "would you like to take them home so she can decide". so the optician boxed them up and that's what I did. I have also taken my sons there, my eldest son, the only one of that still lives in the area, still also attends Breakwells. Since then they retired and sadly has since died. When they took over the business, I have continued to have my eye tests carried out, and to purchase my frames, from them. I have no complaints about their business, which to my mind is first class. It still has the friendly family atmosphere it always has. There may be bigger cheaper optometrists around? However I doubt you will find better.
