Went here for a free eye test. Optician clearly took the 'free' part as an excuse to be rude. When I said I was a teacher, the optician told me I had never worked a day in my life. Whatever their opinion is on teachers, they need to keep it to themself and maintain professionalism. The optician was also patronising, stating "I've been testing eyes since before you were born". I am not questioning the opticians competence in testing eyes - it was very clear that they knew their stuff. The experience was evident in the quality of the diagnosis. However, the customer service and manner leaves much to be desired. The other staff there were absolutely lovely and clearly wanted to help me but I felt completely put off after seeing the optician. In the end, I purchased my glasses from Specsavers where the optician was just as skilled but also knew a thing or two about customer service and had some people skills.
