I went in to the pharmacy after a doctors appointment where I was prescribed some medication. There was no one else waiting when I went in so I went and stood by the desk waiting for someone to serve me. After 10 minutes of staff walking past but ignoring me and 3 other people joining the queue behind me, someone finally decided I was worth serving. A lady came over without saying hello or even making eye contact but told me she’d check my medication was in before I paid (which I appreciated). She came over with the medication in her hand and put it with my prescription in the basket ready to dispense, and I stood to one side. 10 minutes later I was still waiting and at one point I looked around and 11 people were waiting for prescriptions. 2 members of staff were standing around chatting, one had declared she needed to go outside ‘for a fag’ and the ones actually dispensing couldn’t have been moving more slowly. No customer service skills and slow service is all I experienced. A 30 minute wait for a prescription is not acceptable.
