I have used this pharmacy for 30 years. On Sunday my wife required female sanitary products urgently. I bought 2 boxes of Tampax and one was not suitable. I paid by contactless card and no receipt was given. On trying to return the unused type I was told that they had not been purchased at the store.I insisted that they had been and was asked for the receipt (which I had not been given). When I pointed out that every for sale product in the pharmacy was marked with an identical label to that on the box I was returning I was then told that they could not open the till to give a refund. All this was in front of customers and staff which, as a 73 year old man, purchasing sanitary products, I found embarrassing. By this time the amount of the refund was less important than the fact that all 3 members of staff were being deliberately awkward and obstructive. My wife and myself visit the pharmacy regularly for repeat prescriptions etc but I will now use the local private pharmacy - at least two of the staff knew me as a regular customer and I can only assume that they took the attitude they did because I am elderly and they thought that they could get away with it! I will now check the Sale of Goods Act and I am sure that by not refunding the purchase price the staff are acting outside the law and if so I will contact consumer rights dept. at Lewisham Council.
