Note I have been using Birchall and Haydock since early 1987 and have been generally very satisfied but now, please read on; prescription from surgery Thursday 12th May no problem, went in to collect on Monday 19th and 2 items on back order (OK, it happens) but the whole of the second page ignored completely (not good, lesson one check whilst still there), told to return on Tuesday afternoon for the other 2 items, what with work and so on it was Thursday afternoon before I returned, after 30 minutes told one of the items had not been ordered could I come back on Saturday (um no they close at 3 pm) so I said I would take the one item and they could let me have the prescription back so I could go down Sainsburys please (hate to do this as we have been very loyal to B & H for prescriptions, over the counter items and toiletries for 29 years), waited another 15 minutes to be told they didn't have the other item either but they both would be in on Saturday (see above) came away with the prescription form and the firm resolve to avoid Birchall & Haydock.
