perscriptions taking weeks to get we need more staff clearly overwhelmed terrible service the only chemist in the village it needs more support staff

What on Earth is happening at this pharmacy? Once upon a time, I could rely on my prescription being ready for collection without any problems whatsoever. Since March, however, the 'service', if you can call it that, has been laughably inadequate at best. At the end of March I tried to collect my usual prescription ( one that I have had for years...). It turned out that it had been lost & it took 4 visits and 2 telephone calls before it was resolved. Today, I went in to find a huge queue, one assistant working behind the counter and 5 people at the back, (3 men in suits, 1 pharmacist and I assistant, all doing goodness only knows what...). Prescription filling times ranged from 15 minutes to over an hour. I was told mine would be 15 minutes. Came back 15 minutes later, had to wait another 10 minutes to get the attention of the assistant and was then told that the item that I needed was out of stock. I was advised that I could have a prescription token to take to another pharmacy & that it would take 2 minutes to arrange. Ha! Famous last words! 15 minutes later I walked out, triumphantly clutching my prescription token in my sweaty little palm, I got to my car & then realised that I had paid for the prescription but not been refunded! Back to the pharmacy and another 5 minute wait. In total I wasted over an hour of my time, to find that what I needed, wasn't in stock. Astonishingly incompetent. If I ran my business this way, I would soon be going into liquidation. I could not fault the courtesy of the assistants & the pharmacist & I felt terribly sorry for them, but have to agree that this branch is in crisis and is in desperate need of organisation.
