Today Sunday 25/03/18, just around 3 pm, I went to Tesco pharmacy at St Stephenson Hull. My almost 3 years old son was having sticky red eyes, for about 36 hours and was getting worse, so I was hoping to get something for him on minor element prescription as I thought it is simple case of conjunctivitis. unfortunately the pharmacist was very unhelpful, and he refused to do so with withought having his NHS number in hands. I advised him that I don't remember it, and that there is no such requirement to do so on NHS choices as all other identifications for my son is available but he refused. I called 111 and they advised there is no such thing and to try another pharmacist. I came back to pharmacist and explained that I called 111 and no such thing is required as very rarely we do memories our NHS number and it is very inconvenient to go home and back for this. but he was stubborn and rude with me. I end up buying the abc ointment although my son entilted for free prescription under this role. there is no wonder why there is such pressure on GPs, when trying to do the right thing, and consult pharmacist for minor illness they turn you away. Shame on hime, he didn't care if this was going to delay the treatment of my son. I will never go there to consult Tesco pharmacy again if this is going to be their attitude towards patients. I am not sure why NHS will commission them for services they are not providing
