I was refused service e.g. my prescription was ready to collect but I was told that there was no responsible pharmacist available until 2.15pm (I arrived at 1.30pm). I note that this is in contravention of Section 8(2) of the NHS Pharmaceutical Regulations 2013 - "Drugs or applicances so ordered shall be provided either by or under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist". Morrissons pharmacy in Rugeley have also gone against the GPhC Responsible pharmacist guidance which states that the responsible pharmacists may be absent but must remain contactable with the pharmacy staff ... and "return with resonable promptness where this is necessary to secure the safe and effective running of the pharmacy". I note that at this time (15/12/14) there was no sign stating that services were unavailable at specific times during the day. The pharmacist has agreed that this would be amended.
